Param Pujya  Sri Nana Paranjpe

Sri Swami Samarth's current abode is in the Himalayas caves, which no human can reach without His explicit desire. Even though He directly blesses many devotees today, He usually operates through a living link. A living Link is like a "step up and step down transformer" between him and a spiritual aspirant

Nana Paranjpe  resides at the hill station Lonavla, near Pune - Mumbai Highway. He was living in the "Sri Akkalkot Swami Samarth "Muth  in Chembur (Mumbai) and was a devotee of Lord Shiva. Gradually, he started receiving messages from Sri Swami Samarth. One day, Swami materialized in front of Nana and asked him, "Is there a difference between Lord Shiva & Me?"  In 1960, Sri Swami Samarth took him physically to Akkalkot via space travel (vayugaman) and gave him charan tirth (holy water) in Cholappa's Muth. Then Sri Swami Samarth bought him back to Mumbai.

One Morning in 1963, around 2:30 a.m. Nana's subtle body left his physical gross body and travels high up in space. From that point the earth appeared the size of a cricket ball.  Nana entered a golden palace where he saw the shining , lustrous figure of Sri Swami Samarth wearing only a loin cloth and walking to and from. Sri Swami Samarth told Nana to climb up three steps symbolizing satva (harmony), raja (activity), and tama (inertia) and asked if he recognize him, Nana said he did. Then Sri Swami Samarth announced, "I will now partially manifest myself through you and display the divine leela" Nana responded hesitantly, "I am a married person". Sri Swami Samarth said, "Don't worry about it and just watch what happens henceforth". With this He initiated Nana with a sacred mantra. Additionally, Sri Swami Samarth taught him another specific mantra which needs to be chanted three times only when encountered by danger. Then Sri Swami Samarth Disappeared

Nana forgot the second mantra and was wondering what to do about it when Lord Dattatraya suddenly manifested. Lord Dattatraya  asked, "Have you forgotten the mantra ?" Nana says "Yes." Then Lord Dattatraya gave him the same (second) mantra again and He then disappeared. As Nana walked out of the palace he saw a corpse. He shudder at the side and prayed to Sri Swami Samarth, "Why this inauspicious omen after having your auspicious, holy darshan?" In his inner eye flashed Sri Swami Samarth's shining personage seated on a lotus flower. He said, "Just touch the dead body and chant my name." The dead man regained his life.

As Nana proceed further, he saw an Old man with a wooden stick and blazing eyes. Again Nan asked Sri Swami Samarth, "Who is this person?" He said, "You will know him in two years and thereafter this grand old man will be your spiritual guide." Then Nana's subtle body descended down and entered his gross physical body around 5:30 A.M.

Exactly two years later (in 1965), Mr. Dyandeo Katkar (Nana's friend) asked him to come to his house  (In Kurla, Mumbai) to pay respect to a disciple of Sri Krirshan Saraswati. Nana was amazed to see same figure with blazing eyes he saw two years before. It was Sri Namdeo Maharaj. Immediately Namdeo Maharaj said, "You  have blessed by my guru's guru, Sri Swami Samarth. What more can I give you?."  .............

He told  Nana to offer food to the hungry and serve the poor and the suffering people. Five years later, when visiting Namdeo Maharaj, Nana was told to ask for any boon. Nana replied that he didn't need anything . However, Namdeo Maharaj  insisted. Nana therefore asked for the power to remove the suffering of those who come in contact with him.  "This is my guru's (Sri Krishna Saraswati's) work. You will accomplish this," said Namdeo Maharaj, being extremely pleased with the request. Then on gurudwadashi, (the twelfth day on the Hindu calendar in the month of Ashwin.) Namdeo Maharaj blessed Nana with a special saffron robe, chatti, as a vehicle of Lord Dattatraya's power and a sacred mantra.

Nana shared a fascinating incident of his life which tells us how he developed the unshakable faith in Sri Swami Samarth. In 1965, when Nana was 45 years old, he lost his job because his employer had to declare bankruptcy. Nana was scared and was lying down one night when he saw two bright stars in the sky. In one of them he saw lord Krishna and in other His divine consort, Radha. Lord Krishna was laughing. Nana asked, "I am worried about my job and how to  feed my family. Why are you happy and laughing?" Lord Krishna, laughed again and said , "You are chanting my name (Radha-Krishna, which was give to him by Lord Krishna earlier) and still you are worrying? I will take care of you." Thus he uttered his immortal promise, "Ananyas chintayanto ---- Vahamyaham" ) Nana got a better job within eight days without even sending his resume anywhere. From that day, Nana stopped worrying and totally surrendered himself to Sri Swami Samarth's Supreme will.

When a devotee's will is aligned (surrendered) with the Supreme will, the Divine King directly orchestrates the well-being of the devotee. Nana established  Shree Swami Samarth Vishwa Kalyan Kendra (Apta Phata) for the benefit of spiritually hungered seekers in particular and humanity in general. Nana's message to those aspiring for  the divine crown : "Selfless service and love towards fellow human beings is the fastest way to the lord. One should not neglect the ordained duties but perform the worldly responsibilities perfectly and then pursue the divine fragrance."
