Sri Swami Samarth, The most recent incarnation (Avatar) of the Datta Sampradaya, stayed in Akkalkot for about 20 years, teaching the common man spiritual precepts, taking him to Poornatva, i.e. God.

By his grace P.P. Sri. Nana Paranjpe has been educating people about the teachings of Sri Swami Samarth, for over 40 years. To do this more effectively he set up the "SHREE SWAMI SAMARTH VISHWA KAKLYAN KENDRA" (a registered Public Trust) at Apta Phata, (about 50 Km. from Mumbai) in 1983. This Trust set up a spiritual campus with a beautiful Idol of Sri Swami Samarth in a Temple on the banks of the Patal Ganga river, enables the devotees to peruse their Sadhana. In this Temple while Pooja & Abhishek is done daily, The festival of 'Guru Poornima', 'Datta Jayanti', 'Sri Swami Samarth Prakat Din' (i.e. Sri Swami Samarth's Appearance on the earth), Jayanti's (BirthDays) of 'Sri Krishna Saraswati Maharaj' & 'Sri Namdeo Maharj' are celebrated with great enthusiasm. Thousands of devotees participate in this celebration, perform their Abhishek & partake in the Mahaprasad.

With a view to enabling devotees to reside in this spiritual campus, This Trust sets up "Shree Swami Samarth Seva Dham", along with spiritual practice, skills would be imparted to the poor. Health Care Programm's, Yoga Training, Discussion by Yogi's & Saints, Medical Camps & various discourses on Sri Swami Samarth Maharaj's teaching are also organized on various occasions

Shree Swami Samarth Seva Dham is planned as a three storied structure. It coveres an area of 8000 Sq.Ft., comprising of Dining Hall, Meditation Hall. The top floor has rooms for devotees to stay. Over Rs. 70 Lakhs have been spent for the construction of Shree Swami Samarth Seva Dham.

P.P. Sri Nana had been told by Sri Namdeo Maharaj that he wished to have a temple in Mumbai, for his Guru i.e. Sri Krishna Saraswati Maharaj The stone Paduka of Sri Krishna Saraswati Maharaj were in Kolhapur. many had tried to lift them & shift them, but they had failed. Nana prayed to Sri Swami Samarth, who told him to immerse 5 coconut in the Panchganga river. Lo! the Paduka's were easily lifted & transported to Apta Phata Muth, where a temple was built to house them. P.P. Sri Nana had a desire that a temple should be built for Sri Namdeo Maharaj, near the temple of Sri Krishna Saraswati Maharaj. This was also done. Thus Nana's dream for a spiritual campus has succeed through the grace of Sri Swami Samarth.

One early morning when Nana was offering his morning salutation to Sri Swami Samarth at his resident in Lonavla, suddenly he heard Sri Swami Samarth's voice, "Enroll 2500 devotees as members of "Shree Swami Samarth Vishwa Kalayan Kendra". From that day P.P. Sri Nana engaged in this work. Till date over 1000 devotees enrolled as a member of "Shree Swami Samarth Vishwa Kalyan Kendra". Therefore it's a message to all the devotees to enroll themselves as a member of "Shree Swami Samarth Vishwa Kalyan Kendra" The Amount raised by membership fee shall provide a corpus which will take care of all future needs of "Shree Swami Samarth Vishwa Kalyan Kendra".
